We took off on Valentine's day to Lisbon, Portugal. Stayed in an air bnb in one of the oldest, most charming neighborhoods in Lisbon and did ton's of wandering. Spent two days exploring the Mafra and Sintra areas outside Lisbon with the best guides. Click the link below for some of our favorite memories from the trip.
In June we celebrated Brooklyn's high school graduation and spent the summer juggling as much time hanging out with her as possible before she moved off to Purdue to study astro-physics and astronomy. For her graduation open house we made a little slideshow of our favorite memories of her so far. Click the link below to check it out. Her first semester at Purdue wrapped up just before Christmas and she's heading back soon for semester 2.
We were able to spend a couple weekends in Colorado. Labor day weekend we stayed in Snowmass and got tickets to see Leon Bridges at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass festival. Then, at the end of October, we spent a snowy weekend up at Beaver Creek Resort.
We took a beautiful drive out to Independence Pass and also went stargazing at Maroon Bells where we could get about 13,000 ft closer to the stars than back home.
Then, in June, a great apartment opened up right off Capitol Square and we figured it would be the perfect way to get to know Madison and explore which areas we could see ourselves building or buying a home in.
While we miss seeing our friends and family back in Michigan, we have fallen in love with Madison and are excited to see what 2023 brings.
Somehow through all of the above busy-ness we also managed to move from West Michigan to Madison, Wisconsin! Chris took a new job as chief pilot for a family here in Madison and has been busy starting up their flight department and hiring a new team.
We decided we would wait till Brooklyn went off to college to sell the condo in Hudsonville and move our furniture here to Madison. So, the first few months we rented a small furnished apartment downtown and did LOTS of flying back and forth.
